Dr Paula Rossi, an emerging scholar in the field of public administration and management, joined us for three days in May 2024. Her research focuses on how individuals and groups of actors make decisions and take actions in complex governance systems. Dr Rossi is particularly interested in the implementation of public policies aimed at fostering sustainable welfare ecosystems and increasing the well-being of service users and citizens.

During her visit, Dr Rossi engaged in productive discussions about her future research cooperation with CenSE, particularly about her visiting scholar journey, set to begin in early 2025. We look forward to continuing our work together!

Professor Stenvall is a well-respected scholar from Finland, and Dr Laitinen, currently an Associate Professor at the University of Tampere, has extensive experience as a senior manager in Finnish local government. Both are board members of our centre.

During their visit, they engaged in discussions with Professor Stephen Osborne and Dr Tie Cui, covering a broad range of topics including healthcare, digital government, and the creative industry. Notably, we are planning a cross-national comparative study on mass vaccination programmes. Their visit has sparked exciting new collaborations, and we are eager to continue our work together.

Dr Delong Tang, an Associate Professor and director of the New Public Governance Research Centre in the School of Humanities and Social Science at the University of Science and Technology, Beijing, began his one-year visiting scholar position with us in June 2024. His research interests include non-profit organisations and social innovation, with a recent concentration on elder and social care, as well as community governance.

During his visit, Dr Tang plans to enhance his collaboration with CenSE, seeking opportunities for comparative studies between the UK and China. As a board member of CenSE, his visit represents a deepened working relationship and friendship. We are excited to continue our collaborative efforts!
