Tie Cui and his co-authors are developing a study that critically examines the role of public-sector accounting in creating public value and safeguarding public values. In April 2026, at the invitation of Professor Giuseppe Grossi, Tie presented the paper online at an ACE Research Seminar. The presentation stimulated a lively discussion among around 20 accounting academics from across Scandinavia.

Later that month, Tie presented the study at the Bristol–Kyoto Qualitative Research on Accounting Workshop in Osaka, Japan. This small-group workshop brought together around 30 accounting scholars from Japan and the UK, providing a valuable setting for in-depth discussion and feedback.

The paper was subsequently presented at the Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association in Prague, Czech Republic, in May 2026. Through these engagements, the study has introduced CenSE’s research on public value and public values to international accounting audiences, supporting interdisciplinary dialogue between public service and accounting scholarship.
